  • Jersey Number: 4

Growing up in Dollard-des-Ormeaux, defender Stéphanie Hill was inspired by her older brother, a tennis and soccer player, to pursue sports. From a young age, her competitive spirit led her to play soccer, and she quickly fell in love with the game for its physicality, team spirit, and strategic depth.

Hill played on defence for the McGill Martlets from 2021 to 2024. Her presence on the field is felt quickly, as she’s an imposing six-foot defender who merited the university’s All-Canadian status in 2023 and was named a Conference All-Star for the fourth time in 2024. Hill was also twice named as McGill's player of the game, including during the RSEQ semi-final.

In August 2020, Hill faced a major setback with an ankle injury, which tested her both physically and mentally. The COVID-19 pandemic complicated her recovery as physiotherapy and gym facilities were closed. Hill adapted her rehab plan, demonstrating resilience and flexibility. Her hard work paid off—she was selected for the Usports All-rookie team after her first year, the USports First All-Star Team after her third year, and notably for the RSEQ All-Star Team last year. These recognitions strengthened her dream of playing at the professional level.

The 22-year-old brings both strength and heart to her role as a defender. Though not particularly superstitious, she follows a few pre-game rituals that ground her: two deep breaths (shared with her team or taken alone), a quick footwork routine before the opening whistle, and handshakes with her teammates.

Off the field, Stéphanie is dedicated to giving back through soccer. Last May, she had the privilege of traveling with her former team, the Martlets, to Paraguay. There, they partnered with organizations TeamUp and Deporvida to engage with local communities and host a soccer clinic for young girls—a memorable experience that deepened her commitment to inspiring and uplifting the next generation.

Representing her city on a professional stage is a true privilege for Stéphanie. Playing in front of family and friends is an exceptional opportunity, and she’s excited to contribute to the Roses’ mission that offers pathway for Montreal’s young female talent to play professionally. Eager to contribute to the team’s success, program development, and future championships, Hill is also committed to becoming a role model for younger players. She’s confident that with the Roses, she’ll help make Montreal and its colors shine.
